Please, Please wear sunscreen

If you think sunscreens are only for the beachy holidays or basking under the sun, you may want to reconsider.

According to the U.S.’ Environmental Working Group, about 2 million cases of skin cancers are reported. And majority of the cases are expected to be prevented had the ultraviolet rays have been prevented from affecting the skin.

Moreover, ultraviolet rays are known to prompt ageing of the skin, thus resulting in wrinkles, not to mention freckles.

So please, please wear sunscreen.

These are some of the rules of choosing and applying the sunscreen properly, according to Metro newspaper in South Korea.

1.     Choose the sunscreen that can screen both UVA and UVB.

2.     The recommended amount of sunscreen is 2grams per square centimeters but if you do not want to wear heavy amount, you can always reapply in the middle.

3.     Wear sunscreen even indoors. Ultraviolet rays are emitted from the lighting and also the sun ray that penetrates your window can affect your skin in great amount.

4.     Remember to apply the sunscreen 30 minutes before you go out so that the cream can be absorbed into the skin and protect the skin properly.

5.     Please apply the sunscreen in rainy days and cloudy days. UVB is always active during those non-sunny days.

6.     Cleanse thoroughly after use. The remains can cause skin troubles.

Sun-screening is at the end of the basic skincare, so it is the best to use before applying foundations.
